This is a portrait of Michelangelo himself. As you can see it shows all of his best features.
Early Life
MichelAngelo or his full name Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was one of the best known artists in the renaissance time period. He was known for his sculptures, paintings and poems. He was born on March 6 1475 and raised in Italy. MichelAngelo was one out of five sons. His family was known financially but MichelAngelo was different and never interested in the family business. His father saw Michel's different interests and decided that he should learn Art and the different forms of it at a young age.The first type of painting technique that he learned was fresco painting at local churches, all of which his father sent him to.

The image above represents the painting called "Doni Tondo". This painting represents the holy family and is one of the only finished panel painting by Michelangelo. It is now located in italy in it's original frame.
Personal Life of MichelAngelo
“Italian Renaissance sculptor, painter, architect, and poet who exerted an unparalleled influence on the development of Western art.” MichelAngelo as an artist was inspired by the western ways of art. He influenced that type of art in his sculptures and poems.
Although MichelAngelo never married a woman he was fascinated by one. Her name was Vittoria Colonna. Vittoria was a local woman and was known for being a widow. As little she may seem she had a big influence in MichelAngelo's life. Many of his poems and sonnets were dedicated to her.Vittoria was also wrote poems about Michelangelo and her life.Their friendship had a positive impact on his life.

This is a portrait of Vittoria Colonna herself. She was one of the most known woman in the Renaissance and she had wonderful friendships with people who had great minds like Michelangelo. She was also known for her incredible poetry and leadership for the underground reformation movement.
The Art
Michelangelo did multiple styles of art. He was remarkable whether it was his sculptures, paintings or poems. The first sculpture Michel ever did was when he was 25 years old and it was of Mary holding Jesus for a church in Rome. Today that sculpture is called the "Pieta".MichelAngelo was influenced by the many artists in Greece and Rome this taught him to see the true potential that his imagination has especially combined with his techniques. Many of his art was influenced by the church and his perspective of how people or stories should be told. "David" was one of the best known sculptures from Michel. It was 17 foot tall and made out of marble. It is was a very hard piece considering it took 2 years.

This image is the famous sculpture "David" hand sculpted by Michelangelo. It was created between the years 1501 and 1504. It is still standing and available to the public eye.
Other famous art done by MichelAngelo was the "Sistine Chapel". MichelAngelo was asked to do this painting by a Pope. The ceiling that MichelAngelo insisted on doing alone was over 65 feet high. The painting itself had many characters it was all symbols and interpretations of christianity. Christianity was important to MichelAngelo especially since he grew up with that religion. This painting isn't just a painting it took a lot of considerations of the architecture with it too. Michel had to consider the layers of paint used and how he could make it long lasting. Unfortunately the painting rotted overtime but it was restored and still can be seen today.

The image above is the infamous sistine chapel. This painting by Michelangelo of course,is one of the biggest cornerstones for the Renaissance art time period.
